Kathy Wright DACVIM (Cardiology and Small Animal Internal Medicine)
Dr. Kathy Wright's passion for studying cardiac arrhythmias and their treatment began in her rotating internship, when she was presented with a 4-month-old Labrador puppy suffering from an incessant narrow complex tachycardia. This inspired her to pursue a cardiology residency following her small animal internal medicine residency, as well as a post-doctoral fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology. She has focused on minimally invasive cardiac mapping and ablation techniques in dogs with accessory pathways and atrial tachyarrhythmias. Through decades of treating dogs with these arrhythmic issues, Dr. Wright and her team have discovered several interesting facts about their presentation and best treatment methods that would be beneficial knowledge for emergency veterinarians, criticalists, and family practice veterinarians.
