Sharon Lentz, RVT, VTS (ECC) is a veterinary technician with over 30 years experience in General Practice, Emergency, Equine, and Specialty veterinary medicine. She enjoys a wide range of veterinary interest; from critical care practice to management and development of aspiring members of the veterinary technical profession. She specializes in helping entry level technicians enhance their skill and knowledge level through implementing interactive lectures and hands on learning. After a successful career in general and emergency practice, Sharon received certification as a specialist in emergency and critical care, earning the credential of VTS (ECC) in 2016. She became a member of the RECOVER initiative in 2016 and served as a co-chair of the page 1 subcommittee tasked with development of the standard CPR reporting form. Sharon served on the AVECCTN exam committee 2017-2019. She serves as a “professional speaker resource” for ZOETIS, and leads training sessions in veterinary practices throughout the DC/Baltimore Metro area. She now coaches other people to pursue the same success through identifying their individual areas of interest in the field. She has managed a 6+ DVM general practice in Bethesda, MD and is in pursuit of certification as a CVPM through the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. Beginning in December 2020, Sharon accepted the position of Program Coordinator of Veterinary Technology at Blue Ridge Community Technical College in Martinsburg, WV and is actively involved in the development of a new veterinary technology degree program to offer the A.A.S Veterinary Technolgy degree.
