Mary Beth Whitcomb DVM MBA ECVDI (Large Animal Associate)

Dr. Mary Beth Whitcomb is a Professor of Large Animal Ultrasound and Director of the Large Animal Clinic at UC Davis where she has been faculty since 1999. She completed her DVM at UC Davis in 1996, an internship at Las Colinas Veterinary Clinic in Irving, Texas in 1997, worked as a Post-Graduate Researcher at the JD Wheat Orthopedic Research Lab at UC Davis studying racing injuries and completed the Large Animal Ultrasound & Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in 1999. Dr. Whitcomb became a Large Animal Associate Member of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2011 and established the second large animal ultrasound fellowship program in the United States in 2001. She has delivered over 600 presentations on equine ultrasound at the national and international level and is known for 3D and 2D digital simulations to teach ultrasound to all skill levels. In 2013, Dr. Whitcomb earned an MBA from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and has branched out into business topics and gender issues in equine practice. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, travel and live music.
